Manage MP3s with Traktor PRO

Traktor pro is the world best DJ software ever. I think most people would agree with me. I have tried Serato and Virtual DJ but my *fit* is Traktor pro. It’s bit complex but if you know how to control the beast, the possibilities are infinite.

Today I’m going to talk about managing tracks with traktor pro. Inially most of us would not use the same laptop we use for gigs for in-house productions. Personally I use my desktop computer with wide screen LCD so that you can see the full interface of Traktor. If I analyze and set my cue points in my desktop computer those cue points will not be copied along with the tracks as they are stored in XML format with Traktor DJ software. If you copy the mp3 files, only mp3 tags would go with the file.

To overcome that I use this simple mechanism of exporting play lists along with mp3 using traktor. Take a look at this how to do manual as I will explain to you how I prepare my tacks for Traktor.

1. Download MP3s
Always make sure that you download MP3 legitimately

2. Analyze MP3s
All mp3 are not in the same volume/gain level. On the other hand, there will be clipped peaks and invalid song dynamics as well as incorrect pitch. If you are play those mp3s in your gigs, that just doesn’t work.
I use Platinum Notes for analyzing mp3 and it will generate separate 320kbp mp3 with has smoother peaks and adjusted volume and dynamics. To see the difference I would ask you to repair your mp3 and see the difference between two

To be continued....
